New Lake Homes are Coming to Lake Martin

Shiner’s Cove ‘Soft Opening’ set for July23, 2026

A new development on Lake Martin that has been in the works for several years now has finally reached a key milestone—a finished lake home. Shiner’s Cove, which is located just a few miles south of US Highway 280 via State Highway 63, will come to the market on July 23 through a “soft opening.”

The soft opening will provide potential buyers with a “first look” of this new multi-phase development just south of Alexander City. This area of the lake is very popular and, until Shiner’s Cove, had prices higher than many potential lake owners could afford. With prices starting at $1,195,000 for a four-bedroom waterfront home, this area provides exciting opportunities.

In addition to the very attractive asking prices, Shiner’s Cove is a private, gated community with underground power, sewer and water service from the City of Alexander City, internet, and a future waterfront clubhouse, pool and community dock amenity.

There are currently six waterfront homes under construction in Shiner’s Cove, with several more on the drawing board, as well as a future water-access enclave. The soft opening on July 23 will allow interested parties to look at the two completed and one nearly completed homes, as well as the remaining three well underway.

In addition to the July 23 soft opening, there will be a grand opening on August 1 to allow the first tours of the furnished waterfront model home and allow customers the first opportunity to see the Phase 2 waterfront homesites. First offers for property in Shiner’s Cove will be reviewed on August 9.

This soft opening, followed by the grand opening, will give a preview period to prospective purchasers for an opportunity to explore the development and talk to one or all of the four building companies in Shiner’s Cove. The preview period will end on August 9 when offers will be received for property in Shiner’s Cove.
