The Ridge is Lake Martin’s largest waterfront development, with over 400 properties developed and sold to date. The Ridge Island, the long-planned and much anticipated final neighborhood of The Ridge, has begun its development and sales cycle with the release of the Phase 1 homesites.

The island is quite large—over 150 acres—but it will not be densely developed. Where most developers would turn 150 acres into 300 or more properties, we have opted to create just over 50 very large waterfront homesites suitable for legacy properties. In fact, the island may have as many as five properties in excess of five acres each to create the ultimate in Lake Martin legacy properties.

We call those multi-acre properties family compounds, a new concept to the lake. We have found that there are family or relationship groups who want to have multiple lake homes within the same place, with the same character and quality, and with private features to use together for the foreseeable future. Phase 1 has two of those properties available.

Also included in Phase 1 are 16 very large estate lots that offer an average of 1.28 acres of land and almost 300 feet of shoreline. This collection of waterfront homesites is the best overall collection of properties that we have offered in The Ridge to date, which is saying quite a lot since there are many special properties in the community.

The Ridge Island has its own cachet since only property owners on the island will have access via the gated access point on the mainland side of the Ridge Island Bridge. In addition to that access, Ridge Island property owners will have the use of all Ridge amenities, including The Ridge Club, Beach Park, neighborhood trails, and many other amenities.
